eco-friendly gift guide {for kiddos}

A while back I joined the EtsyKids Team.  This team promotes member's items via treasuries, a team blog, a team Facebook page, and various other group efforts.  I love that there are so many eco-friendly options just within the team!  Here are a few gift ideas for kiddos that you can still get in time for Christmas!

P.S. don't forget to enter the lovely giveaway from Pretty Tape right here on my blog!

pretty tape {giveaway!}

I'm back - with a little *merry christmas* giveaway!
What a way to re-enter the blog world, right?!

On Small Business Saturday I supported one of my favorite small business supply shops, Pretty Tape.
I ordered the gingham twist ties to pretty up homemade goodies and washi tape
to seal our family's Christmas cards.

Guess what?!
Glenda, owner of Pretty Tape, sent me two of each - one set for me and one set for YOU

So, how do you get your hands on these goodies?
(one winner will receive the items pictured above)
  1. leave a comment here - let us know how you will use the washi tape and twist ties.
  2. want to enter twice?  take a peek at what Pretty Tape has to offer and come back here to report your favorite or favorites (in my case...)!
Giveaway entry deadline is noon Monday, December 12.
After 12:00p that day I will choose one name using random.org and announce the winner.

Good luck!

I'm back...sort of...

Remember when I said "see ya next week"?
Hmmm...somehow that turned into "see ya next month"!

Here's why:

One, I couldn't seem to fit it all in - you know, blog, custom orders, a list of projects I wanted to complete, kiddos to take care of, cooking, cleaning, and the short lived nice weather always calling our names.  So, the blog had to take a break...and maybe some of the cleaning too...

Two, oh my number two -  BOTH of my kiddos, yes that's right ALL of my kiddos, will be going to school this year.  My life as I have known it for more than 9 years will be changing with the start of the school year and I needed some time to soak it all in.  The bittersweet feeling of my kiddos growing up so darn quickly, the uncertainty as to what life will now be like, and the unrequested change has had me quite emotional these past 4 weeks.  My family will tell you that I have never been good with change, especially change that involves something I was completely happy with just as it was.  thank you very much.  So, though I know that in a matter of weeks we will have established our new normal - right now I am mourning the loss of our old life, a life I loved, a life that went by way too quickly.  oh, those darn tears...

For the next couple of weeks I will continue to be absent while I get us all settled in.  I hope when I return I will be in a less emotional state of mind, excited for the possibilities that lay ahead for both my kiddos and myself!  And, in my hand - a long list of great shops, ideas, DIY's, and recipes to share with you!
