oh, so pretty

Lovely readers: I attempt to keep the sharing of my Etsy treasury includes to a minimum - the eye candy is often outstanding, but too much of a good thing and you may find me a bit self-indulgent! Think of me as you must, but this one is just too pretty not to share!

Have fun shopping missprettypretty and don't forget to enter the giveaway - one winner will be announced on Tuesday!

special baby gift {and a giveaway!}

This Saturday we are throwing a baby shower for the newest little addition to our neighborhood! When giving a shower gift I love to give handmade - I often tuck a few necessities from the registry into one of my buckets! This time around the sweet little guy and his proud parents will be receiving a set of handmade book plates and the hardcover version of one of our family's favorite books. You can check them out here and here.

Did someone say giveaway?
The lovely Terri at FromTheLibraryOf has so kindly offered up a set of her beautiful bookplates for one lucky oh, buckets' reader! And, I will throw in a book so you can have your very own gift set - perfect for sticking in an Easter basket, giving as a birthday gift, or maybe you too have a baby shower coming up!

To get yourself entered head over to Terri's shop, pick out your favorite item, and then stop back here to tell us what that item is. Want a bonus entry? Become a follower of oh, buckets' blog - those who are already followers will automatically be entered in the drawing. On Tuesday, April 5 I will conduct a random drawing and announce the winner!

Good luck and I'll see you back here on Thursday with a seriously creative children's shop!

getting to know BebelooshMini

Elena, from Bebeloosh Mini, says her shop is all about reduce, reuse, recycle. Her snack bags and lunch totes are made from recycled hemp and organic cotton and the little embellishments are oh, so sweet! She certainly makes going green cute!

Want a few more reasons to give these cuties a try? Take a peek at these stats (thanks to ENVIROTHINK): a family of 5 uses 1,800-2,400 plastic sandwich bags each year and more than 20 million of these bags end up in the landfill from school lunches alone! Switching to re-usable sandwich/snack bags will save a little space in the landfills, cut down on the use of resources, and will keep some extra cash in your pocket!

Enjoy the rest of your week and I will see you back here on Tuesday with a unique gift idea - perfect for baby showers and birthdays!

cupcake liner poms

When planning my littlest lady's birthday party this winter I was all set to make a cupcake liner garland as part of her decor (similar to the one shown in this Party Perfect post). But, a few days before the party I stumbled across a tutorial for a cupcake liner pom and plans changed!

The process is super easy and the time needed is minimal. I would make one small change: there is no need to buy styrofoam balls. You can crumple up old newspaper for your ball shape and wrap it in strong tape for extra sturdiness. Want to be even more eco-friendly? Check out green party goods for biodegradable cupcake liners!

When the party is done - don't throw your pom away! Use it as bedroom decor or wrap it carefully to use again. These sweeties are quite sturdy!

Check out the tutorial on how does she? and let me know in the comments if you have any questions! And, don't forget it's two for tuesday on oh, buckets' blog - check out what I've been up to in today's other post!

See you back here on Thursday with a shop that is as practical as it is cute!

what I've been up to...

It's two for tuesday on oh, buckets' blog today - I'd like to fill you in on what I've been up to plus share the adorable DIY I promised.

This month has been packed with custom orders - so fun! The photos below are just a sampling...

It has also been my pleasure to be included in several more lovely treasuries on Etsy - you can check them out here, here, here, here, here, and here.

And, don't forget to check out the next post for that DIY I told you about...

happy St. Patrick's Day!

In honor of St. Patty's Day let's do some online shopping in Ireland! I've had so much fun chatting with these ladies in preparation for the post, I can't wait to share their shops with you!

First up, Heathers Treasures in Galway. The little dresses and embellished coats are just too cute!

Next, to Babies Republic in Dublin for some adorable knit baby accessories! The product photos (like the one featured here by Danielle Hobbs) make browsing her shop a real treat!

And finally to Cork, to check out Hobbit Friendly. This little shop offers fleece hoodies that look oh, so cozy!

Happy celebrating and I'll see you back here Tuesday with a super cute DIY tutorial!

a St. Patrick's Day snack

Make your St. Patty's Day extra special with a green themed snack: lime dip and green apples! Serve this tasty duo with green milk to bump up the fun factor!

And, remember to buy organic apples if you can! Apples fall on the top 10 list of food to purchase organic - check out the entire list here.

Enjoy! And, stop by the comments to let me know if you have any special snacks, treats, or meals planned for this Irish holiday.

See you on St. Patrick's day with a few adorable children's shops straight from Ireland!

P.S. Thanks to Jenny from Leaf and Tendril Photography for letting me use her lovely green apple photo!

getting to know Maya

I'd like you to meet the newest member of our family, Maya! She is a 2 pound shichon - itty bitty and full of spunk!

Shichons are a cross between a Shih-Tzu and a Bichon Frise. They are excellent dogs for folks with allergies - like my hubby. And, they love human affection - perfect for my dog *loving* kiddos! We look forward to many years with this little sweetie!

Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you back here on Tuesday with some St. Patty's day fun!
